The New York Council of Nonprofits, Inc. (NYCON)  is the best resource for New York´s Nonprofits!  NYCON works to build the capacity of nonprofits and communities to enhance the quality of life in New York State.  We provide a wide array of specialized technical assistance services, including legal and financial, to nonprofits of all kinds in a staff-based, multidisciplinary team model. NYCON also provides an array of group purchasing, insurance and employee benefits  in the context of membership, helping to build a long term, multi-layered service relationship with member nonprofits. Please note that membership does go by a calendar year, beginning in January and ending in December.

How much does membership cost?

  • Operating Budget under $50,000: $60
  • Operating Budget $50,000 to $499,999: $110
  • Operating Budget $500,000 to $999,999: $135
  • Operating Budget $1 million to $1,999,999: $160
  • Operating Budget $2 million to  $2,999,999: $210
  • Operating Budget $3 million to $4,999,999: $260
  • Operating Budget $5 million to  $6,999,999: $360 
  • Operating Budget $7 million to $9,999,999 $410
  • Operating Budget Over $10 million: $460

What is the Membership Period?
Dues are paid on a calendar year basis. Organizations joining after September 1st receive the subsequent year for free. If you have a question about the dues you are paying or the term, please contact our membership office so that we can work with you. For many benefits, including some insurance products, employee benefits, our free Lunch & Learn Series and many of our purchasing programs, you must maintain an active NYCON Membership to be eligible for the service or discount.

Access to high quality, affordable technical assistance for your own nonprofit. Frequently we work with nonprofits on board governance issues, fiscal procedures, budgeting, policies and procedures, personnel policies, bylaws, compliance issues, entrepreneurial ventures, collaborations, etc. These services are tailored to meet your needs and most services start at $105 per hour.


Employee Benefits for your staff. Many nonprofits are facing the challenge of being able to provide affordable, high quality benefits packages. Through CS Plus, we are able to provide you with information, products and services to help you create a great package your nonprofit can afford.


Organizational Insurance and Risk Management assistance. Many times nonprofits aren´t sure what they are required to have as far as insurance coverage. Do your funders require particular limits? Are you insured for that special event? Would you just like someone to talk to about your nonprofits "risk" factors and appropriate insurance coverage. That´s all included in NYCON Membership

Renewing membership is easy.

 
  • Visit www.nycon.org/members to log into your account with your User Name & Password
  • Update Your Records.  Do we have your correct Phone, Fax and Email Address?
    Do we have current budget and contact information for your staff and primary board contacts?
  • Pay Your 2013 Dues. You can pay easily online. Make sure to update your budget so that
     the right dues amount is calculated for your organization. 
  • If you would prefer to renew via a paper application, please send a check and an updated
    board member list back with the application enclosed.
