Stay Ahead of the Curve:

Proactively Navigate Risk, Opportunity and Uncertainty

UJA-Federation – 130 East 59th Street (at Lexington), 7th Floor

Does your organization talk openly about risks (both threats and opportunities)?  Do you wish you could be more proactive and less reactive?  We invite you to join us for an interactive day designed to inspire and provide tools for planning that can help in making choices about current – and future – risks and opportunities.

Program Highlights

  • Panel of nonprofit leaders discuss approaches to risk and how they use planning to pivot with threats and opportunities;
  • “Hands on” scenario planning exercise using tools that nonprofits of all sizes can take home and use;
  • Dialogue with Ted Bilich, CEO, Risk Alternatives and the Ahead of the Curve collaborative of technical assistance organizations

In September 2016, we joined with nonprofits in the first Ahead of the Curve symposium to learn how the sector sees risk and what is needed.  Since then, changes in the environment have heightened threats as well as potential opportunities.  In the 2017 symposium we learn together about how NYC nonprofits have responded to active risks – such as fiscal, fundraising and challenges to rights – as well opportunities for innovation and change.  And we explore how to use planning tools to build resilience.
