Succession Planning for Executive Leadership [NYSCA Webinar]

Executive Director transitions happen, whether or not we are ready.  Without preparation, the impact of unplanned or planned transitions can throw an organization off course and undermine board, staff, funder, and constituent confidence in the organization.  By planning ahead, organizations can lay the groundwork for transitions by identifying the actions that can be taken to strengthen and prepare the organization before the leader’s departure; defining the roles and activities that will move the organization through the transition; and build a solid and welcoming foundation for new leadership.  This session will help board leadership better understand the succession planning process and the issues that might be considered in a succession plan including staff and board development, budgeting, Interim leadership, and managing a hiring process.
