Clifton Park and Glenville, NY, May 18, 2017 – Representatives from CAPTAIN Youth and Family Services, Inc., and Community Human Services (CHS) today announced the formation of a subsidiary of the two nonprofits, creating a larger nonprofit organization focused on social services.  CAPTAIN has entered into a subsidiary relationship with CHS as of today, and the companies will combine business operations and become CAPTAIN Community Human Services by year’s end, after proper papers are filed and approved by the state. Both existing main headquarters for the nonprofits will remain in operation.

Sue Catroppa, CAPTAIN’s Executive Director, will head the new formation and the transition to a single company.

“Along with our Board members, we are thrilled to welcome CHS to our family,” Catroppa stated. “Combined under one umbrella, we bring over 80 years of experience serving the community, and look forward to this incredible opportunity to help our neighbors in Saratoga County and beyond, from infants to senior citizens, to get the help they need in times of crises in a manner of dignity and respect. We share a common goal with CHS to lift people up and build brighter futures, and are excited by the potential of the merger.”
