Event Details

The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties invites staff and board members of nonprofit organizations to attend a free training workshop titled "Nuts and Bolts of Governance Part 2: Improving Nonprofit Board Operations" presented by Susan Weinrich, Senior Vice President, Organizational & Community Development at NYCON.

Registration and continental breakfast begin at 8:30 a.m., presentation from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration is required as seating is limited.

This session builds on last year’s Nuts and Bolts Board Governance session questions and discussion. Nonprofit operations can be complicated, and their governance is often confusing for many that serve on boards. This presentation will address many of the most frequently asked questions and issues that arise for nonprofits and their boards of directors. In addition to the following topics, we invite you to share your own questions:

  • What is and isn’t a conflict of interest
  • Board voting
  • Whether or not to use Robert’s Rules of Order
  • Implementing bylaws
