With arts-focused employers, in particular, a few thrived; regrettably, many more are no longer with us; while most consider themselves fortunate to remain operational, yet extremely apprehensive about a very uncertain future. The nation’s response to the pandemic created a confusing, highly-stressful work environment for nonprofit boards and managers, resulting in predictable complications, but also unanticipated rewards and successes.
