About NYSCA Stabilization Program for Small Arts Organizations:

The NYSCA Stabilization Program for Small Arts Organizations is designed to help nonprofits identify and address significant operational issues that impede their long-term viability and growth. A nonprofit selected to participate will engage in a comprehensive capacity building project for their overall operation that includes organizational assessment, followed by tailored consulting services and learning activities. At the conclusion of participating in these activities each arts group may be awarded a grant of up to $10,000 to support their further capacity building efforts, such as to purchase equipment, software, and/or additional consulting services.

Arts and culture-focused organizations must meet three criteria to be eligible for the Stabilization Program: 1) They are an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit or fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the state, 2) Their most recent annual budget is under $1 million, and, 3) They are based outside of New York City. Further related information about applying for the program, including the application form, is available on the NYCON website at https://www.nycon.org/resources/stabilization.

Rural, BIPOC-led (Black/Indigenous/People of Color), and community-based organizations are strongly encouraged to apply. The stabilization program is funded by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), a state agency.
