 The New York Council of Nonprofits, Inc. (NYCON) is the best resource for New York State Nonprofits. NYCON works to build the capacity of nonprofits and communities to enhance the quality of life in New York State. We provide a wide array of specialized technical assistance services, including legal and financial, to nonprofits of all kinds in a staff-based, multidisciplinary team model. NYCON also provides an array of group purchasing, insurance, and employee benefits in the context of membership, helping to build a long-term, multi-layered service relationship with member nonprofits. 

HOW DO I JOIN?

Whether you are just starting your nonprofit or you've been a nonprofit for 100 years, membership is open to you.  Memberships are also available for Individuals/Citizens and Corporate Members. Joining is easy. You can join online by credit card or you can mail in a check with a copy of our printable membership application.  Please note that NYCON Membership is based on the Calendar Year (January 1- December 31). 
After June 1st, we offer a prorated membership for new members only.

30 Minutes of FREE phone AssistanceAdvice and assistance from Nonprofit Experts in fiscal, governance, legal, planning, fund development, marketing, human resources, benefits, risk management, and much more. This assistance is free with a membership, members get 30 minutes of free phone/email assistance.

Access to Technical Assistance: High-quality, affordable consulting for your own nonprofit. Frequently we work with nonprofits on board governance issues, fiscal procedures, budgeting, policies and procedures, personnel policies, bylaws, compliance issues, entrepreneurial ventures, collaborations, etc. These services are tailored to meet your needs and start at a membership rate of $175 per hour, legal services are $250+ per hour.

Employee Benefits for Your Staff: Many nonprofits are facing the challenge of being able to provide affordable, high-quality benefits packages. Through Council Services Plus, we provide information, products, and services to help you create a great package your nonprofit can afford.

Organizational Insurance and Risk Management Assistance: Many times nonprofits aren´t sure what they are required to have as far as insurance coverage. Do your funders require particular limits? Are you insured for that special event? Would you just like someone to talk to about your nonprofit's "risk" factors and appropriate insurance coverage? That´s all included in NYCON Membership.

Training, Education & Conferences: NYCON trainings, workshops, and events are some of the biggest benefits of membership according to a recent membership survey. Our members get discounts on even our biggest events (including Camp Finance) and members are often eligible for scholarships to conferences thanks to our regional partnerships with foundations in the Mid-Hudson Valley, Oneonta, Syracuse and more.
