Executive Director Leadership Retreats are multiple day training sessions for executive directors with six months to five years of experience.

As an executive director with six months to five years of experience, attending NYCON's Exclusive Director Leadership Retreats can help you develop valuable skills to advance your career. This program offers practical training in nonprofit executive leadership, management, and problem-solving, and is tailored to engage participants in organization-specific conversations with both instructors and peers, incorporating real-world elements to explore nonprofit sector challenges and opportunities.

The retreat includes comprehensive training on various topics such as the role of the executive director, the executive director’s relationship with the board of directors, nonprofit accounting, and fiscal accountability. Participants will also learn effective marketing and messaging strategies, legal accountability and compliance, human resource issues and strategies, and partnering with your board in fund development.

The retreat is designed to maximize impact and includes a unique approach that blends group training, one-on-one consultations, and cohort discussions. Participants will have access to experienced instructors who will provide practical training in nonprofit executive leadership, management, and problem-solving. Additionally, the retreat includes two nights' accommodation and all meals throughout the event, making it a convenient and comprehensive program for busy professionals.

For those in the local area, a commuter rate is available that includes on-site meals. The retreat takes place over three days, starting at 11:00 AM on the first day, continuing throughout the second day, and concluding at 2:00 PM on the third day. The specific times may vary depending on the session, and a full agenda will be sent to participants closer to the event.
