Executive Transitions and Leadership Development

Executive Director Retreat: This three day training for Executive Directors with less than five years of experience will provide an in depth review of the real-world elements of nonprofit executive leadership, management and problem-solving. Through classes, workshops, and individual consulting, participants will be able to address both individual issues within their own organization as well as converse with other executive staff regarding their shared experiences and issues.

Succession Planning and Executive Transitions: NYCON can work with your organization pro-actively to develop a succession plan for Executive Leadership and key management positions. The plan can focus on unplanned as well as planned transitions and help your organization clearly articulate the action steps that would be taken before, during, and after a transition is known.

NYCON can support your organization through an Executive transition by helping the board of directors or hiring committee come to consensus about the skill and talents needed by a new leader; develop a job description; articulate the selection criteria and process; check references; and establish an onboarding process that maximizes the chances for success.
