How updated are your personnel policies? Have you reviewed them in the past year? New York State regularly makes changes that impact a variety of personnel matters, requiring the regular review and updating of personnel handbooks. Ignoring such updates can result in personnel complaints and New York State Department of Labor audits -- which can get costly, fast.

Join us for this half-day session in which you’ll hear from NYCON’s staff attorneys and HR expert on the top policy changes from the last five years impacting nonprofits and common personnel policy pitfalls. You will also hear directly from New York State Department of Labor auditors, who will share the top compliance issues they see with nonprofits and how to stay in compliance. The DOL auditors will use a mix of presentation, panel discussion and questions/answers to share helpful information you can implement immediately.
In addition, attendees will receive a number of essential policy templates from NYCON that can be personalized for your organization.* Time for questions will be included; this session is appropriate for staff from small and large nonprofit organizations, those who don’t currently have a personnel handbook, and those who have had a handbook for years.

Speakers Include:

Attendees will also be able to sign up for a one-on-one consultation and complete handbook review with a NYCON attorney after this event at a discounted price.

*Don’t have an Employee handbook? NYCON's Legal Services Group can assist with creating new personnel policies or reviewing any existing policy document.
