Opportunity Amidst the Chaos: Budgets, Values, and the Future of the Nonprofit Sector

The nonprofit sector stands at a crossroads as cataclysmic changes in the federal government threaten long-standing funding models and service structures. This presentation challenges nonprofits to step boldly into a transformative role—reconceptualizing how we resource our work, how we deliver services, and how we intermediate between government, the private sector, and the public good. At its core, this is the work of social innovation: treating budgets as statements of values and aligning them with deep community listening, flexibility, and collaboration to build a stronger, more equitable future.
