What Nonprofit Executives and Board Members Need to Know About Nonprofit Accounting Part 1
Accounting and financial reporting by nonprofit entities differs from that for for-profit entities. In this session, always a popular one at Camp Finance, you will learn all about these differences from a nationally known speaker. This two-part session provides an excellent overview for those new to the nonprofit sector, for nonprofit executives and board members who need “the basics” or for Campers who just want a refresher. Part 1 covers basic topics, including an introduction to accounting by not-for-profit entities, what makes a not-for-profit entity different from a for-profit entity and accounting for contributions (restrictions, measurement, pledges, donated services and other topics).
