Nonprofits Joining Forces: Essential Considerations
“Merger” has often been thought of as a scary concept in the nonprofit sector. But formally collaborating with other nonprofits — whether it be through a merger, affiliation or shared service — can bring a variety of positive results for nonprofits and the people they serve. In this webinar, experienced practitioners in the field will discuss how such collaborations can enhance nonprofits’ financial stability, overall resources and operational efficiencies, and ultimately produce greater public impact. This program will also include a moderated discussion with two nonprofit leaders who have seen their organizations through the merger process.
The program will include:
- New York Council of Nonprofits Senior Attorney Michael West, Esq. and Capacity Building Advisor Jeffrey Kosmacher will discuss the details and considerations of mergers, affiliations and shared services.
- SeaChange Partner Lindsay Kijewski will discuss how her organization supports nonprofits in pursuing collaborations.
- Two nonprofit leaders will discuss the details of their organizations’ collaboration process. They will include Julie Sadowski, Senior Director of Development – Rockland County at the Community Foundation of Orange, Sullivan and Rockland County; and Faith Moore, Senior Vice President of Housing Programs & Solutions at RUPCO.
