NYCON Update: Federal Action Canceled

January 29, 2025 – A happy update: As is starting to break across media, the White House’s Executive Order that froze all federal funding for organizations across the U.S., including nonprofits, has now been canceled. This is great news for nonprofits and all of the communities we serve!

This means the legal action, stay on that legal action, etc. is all moot. We anticipate though, that this is not the end, and indeed we may see a revised Executive Order that would be equally harmful to us and the communities we serve. However, we have shown that we can come together very quickly as a sector both within New York State and nationally, which will help us with whatever is ahead.
