Febraury, 4, 2025 – We are continuing to closely monitor federal actions and the impact on NYS nonprofits so we can keep NYCON members informed.* Our goal is to bring you the critical information you need to be aware of – while also striving not to fill your inboxes as circumstances change quickly. *Renew your membership now to continue receiving these updates.

Today we have three items to share:

February 7th Webinar: The National Council of Nonprofits is hosting a free webinar this Friday, Feb. 7: "Executive Actions and their Impact on Charitable Nonprofits," from 3-4 pm. The focus will be the Executive Orders, the ones most directly or indirectly impacting charitable nonprofits, and the latest on the legal challenges. The National Council of Nonprofits is expecting overwhelming interest for this national webinar, so please only click the link to register for the live event if you plan to view it live. If you don't anticipate being able to join live, please register to receive the recording so they can keep as many live lines available as possible. Note, participants in the live session won’t be able to ask questions. NYCON leadership will attend and will keep members informed of information shared.

Survey: A big thank you to the many members who responded to our email last week, asking for responses to this year’s Annual NYCON Members Survey. This data will help us with advocacy around the federal actions and help ensure we are otherwise meeting your organization’s needs. If you haven’t responded, please do by Friday.

DEI and Immigration questions: What questions do you have related to the recent federal actions related to DEI and immigration? While the National Council of Nonprofits’ webinar on Friday will provide new information, we are also talking with possible partners about a NYS-specific webinar on these two topics. To make sure we are designing programming that meets your needs, please submit specific questions on this form.

Also – I have received questions about the May 21 NYCON Summit, if we will focus on changes at the federal level. Absolutely: the day is designed to help us envision our collective future and addressing federal challenges will be part of it – perhaps a large part of it, depending on impact of federal actions at that time. Read more on our website.

Thank you for all you do in the community! We will keep updated on this end, and keep you informed -

Regards,

Megan
